Pete Scales

Written and recorded between 1970 and 2001, BLUE WITHOUT YOU represents the best work of a songwriter who preferred the shadows to the limelight but whose songs hold hit-potential for other artists and new audiences. A songwriter at heart but lifelong psychologist by profession, Pete Scales is finally giving air time to the creative output that he enjoyed largely as a hobby throughout his life. It is his hope that these twelve tracks—the most exemplary of his backstage talent—find new audiences through modern artists. 

An eclectic mix of genres, these varied songs could be covered in styles ranging from the rock and country of Chris Stapleton to the jazz-influenced pop of Michael Bublé even as Pete's own recordings harken back to the 70s folk scene of artists such as Ricky Nelson, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, and guitarist Leo Kottke. This collection offers timeless songs that deserve to be heard by future generations.
